Indoor Cricket for Girls & Boys Aged 9 to 16 - New timetable for January 2025

Indoor Cricket for Girls & Boys Aged 9 to 16 - New timetable for January 2025

Graham Hills2 Dec - 14:23

We're delighted to continue our Indoor Cricket sessions for children aged 9-16. We're making some changes to the age-group timetable - see below.

Ahead of the 2025 season, we are delighted to be continuing our popular Monday nights indoor programme at Halliford School Sports Hall. These will run through January, February & March, with the January timetable as follows:

  • Monday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th January:
  • 6 to 7pm:
  • 9-10 year old Boys & Girls (soft ball)
  • 12-16 year old Girls only (soft ball, progressing to hard ball if ready)
  • 7 to 8pm:
  • 11-12 year old Boys & Girls (soft ball, progressing to hard ball if ready)
  • 13-14 year old Boys only (mostly hard ball, but with some soft ball games & practice drills)
  • 8 to 9pm:
  • 14/15-16 year old Boys only (mostly hard ball, but with some soft ball games & practice drills)
  • Note: The timetable for our final pre-Christmas sessions (on 9th December 2024) remain as previously published. If any questions please ask us - see contact details below.

Venue: We've again secured the use of the excellent Halliford School Sports Hall, which is located on Wadham Close, Shepperton, TW17, 9HX. There is free car parking on site, adjacent to the Sports Hall entrance.

What to expect: We plan to run skills build and taster sessions, working on batting, bowling, catching and fielding - with the children having a fun and enjoyable time, making new friends, building confidence and helping to keep fit and healthy - both physically and mentally.

What to bring: We've got all the equipment needed for the taster sessions, so if your child doesn't have their own already, don't worry we'll provide all that's needed. If your child progresses to hard ball cricket, we would encourage you to bring your own protective equipment. But don't worry if you don't have that as we can lend some to you. If any questions, please just ask us.

Oh, and please do bring along a bottle of drinking water - no glass bottles please!

What to wear: Please just get your child to wear a sports top and either shorts or track suit trousers and soft soled trainers - no cricket spikes please!

Safeguarding: As an ECB Clubmark Accredited Club, as you would expect all our Coaches are DBS checked. We do ask that all the children are dropped off and picked up at the door and that we are given emergency contact details. We have a Safeguarding Officer and our full Safeguarding Policy is published on our website.

How much do the sessions cost?: For new / prospective members we would wish your child to try out a couple of sessions for free. After that and for existing junior club members we ask of £3.50 per session attended, towards our venue hire and equipment costs.

That said, if for any reason personal financial circumstances make that unaffordable, please do just mention this privately to one of the coaches; we'll wish to come to an agreement with you confidentially, as we really do not wish any child to miss out and we do understand how the current cost of living can make things very difficult for families.

Do I need to book?: It would be ideal if you could let us know that you'd wish to bring your child along, before they attend their first session. Please see the contact details below.

Our contact details: Please either email us at weybridgevandalssportsclub@gmail.com or call Cricket Club Captain, Graham Hills on 07956 555402.

If we've missed anything out and/or you have any questions, please do get in touch. We really do hope your child - and perhaps a friend of theirs or two - will be able to come along and give cricket a go.
